Our mission
The FYS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) with a threefold mission that focuses on
helping to restore the souls of our
--Warrior Veterans living with invisible wounds, by pairing them with
--Dogs rescued from euthanasia. We also look to help our
--Communities learn to share with our Veteran Families in the
"reciprocal, social contract between warrior, citizen and nation."*
Reduce the rate of canine euthanasia
Improve coping skills of veterans within their new reality
Help manage the impact of PTS(D) which ripples throughout our communities
FOR MORE INFORMATION
Establish personal missions for both veterans and rescued dogs
Teach how to cultivate deep connections between people and domestic animals
Restructure the contemporary, cultural perception of war
Re-engaging the civilian population to respect veterans as elders and honored warriors
Accept responsibility for our civilian leadership's demands of our active-duty soldiers
Balance the growth of the free world with a more discretionary use of war
Inspire a prioritization of the defense of the homeland which, in turn, may significantly reduce our rate of PTS(D) among our warriors
